our Campus in the mountains of
Kurtistown, HAwai'i

The 38-acre property holds incredible promise. We can establish citrus orchards, cultivate kukui nuts, develop a thriving tropical food forest, grow a bountiful herb garden, and produce enough fresh vegetables to share with our community. This model is the key to community transformation, small scale economic empowerment, and long term outcomes.

tiny homes

The initial phase of our pilot is a major success: efficient, rapidly deployable tiny homes are built, proving the viability of our model with an astonishingly low construction cost of just $10,000 per unit. These structures provide immediate, dignified shelter. Crucially, the process doesn't end there; residents are now empowered to personalize and modify these simple homes to truly suit their needs, fostering a deep sense of ownership. Our team is constantly learning from these initial builds, continually refining and implementing new, efficient building techniques to improve our process, drive costs down further, and prepare our high-impact, low-cost model for rapid scaling. Construction is a highly valuable skill. In this way, each house not only gets someone off the street, but teaches them how to fish longer term.

communal kitchen
& bathroom

Residents share a centralized kitchen, living room, and shower facilities, which reduces construction and operating costs while supporting efficient use of resources. A daily vegetarian lunch provides consistent, healthy meals and encourages interaction, helping residents build routines, nutrition skill, and community connections in a safe and structured environment.

greenhouse

We now have two industrial-sized greenhouses ready, allowing us to grow a variety of vegetables. One is already in use for cultivation, while the other serves as our plant nursery and composting area. Our green house serves to make daily lunch, produce meals that go out 2x a month to the community, and offers an education training space for agricultural skill development.

tropical food forest

Our property uses progressive, regenerative agriculture techniques, including a 2-acre food forest orchard, to grow food sustainably while protecting soil health and avoiding the destructive practices of monocropping and pesticides. In the next phase, we will construct an eco-pond to enhance the resilience of our water system during droughts. This model will serve as a blueprint for replication on our next property, supporting sustainable water management and long-term agricultural productivity.

Animal Sanctuary

At Eden Plan, our animals are more than companions—they are an integral part of our trauma-informed approach, helping residents regulate their nervous systems, build trust, and experience consistent, calming interactions. Our land-based programs also provide practical education in animal care and sustainable land management, giving residents hands-on skills that translate to personal growth and employability.

The sanctuary is home to horses, goats, dogs, cats, chickens, and ducks, each playing a unique role in daily life. Residents engage in feeding, grooming, and caring for the animals, learning responsibility, patience, and connection while contributing to a safe and structured environment.
