Eden Plan Hawaii
more on our Animal sanctuary
Our animals are aligned with best practice teaching encouraging a nervous system framework and tool kit when working with people who have faced adversity. The cats are very friendly. The ducks and chickens bring both eggs and a sense of joy. While our residents are primarily people priced out of the market or transitioning youth, the horses specifically are a draw when we have kids to the site for community events. As we expand entrepreneurial workshops, they can be a source of inspiration and happiness for people navigating their way out of significant adversity.
The horses actually do NOT require much work. As slightly feral horses, they manage our property, so time energy can go to priority projects. Our bees are gently kept, and give people the opportunity to learn about micro-enterprises as well as food production and an important conservation topic.
