Community Values
Self- Sustainability
The community grows most of their own food, have solar power, water catchment and each member will help maintain the property.
Environmental Sustainability
A closed loop system is in place. Our waste feeds our plants and our plants feed us. As we grow our food we will build richer soil, leaving the land more fertile every year for all generations to come. Organic farming practices are utilized along with permaculture methods to ensure we are working for the betterment of the land. An abandoned macadamia nut orchard is on the property and will be rehabilitated as a part of the communities’ service to Hawai'i.
Preventing and reducing chronic illness; Improving overall mental wellness
Community Service
Service to our neighbors will be an important part of our community. Imagine a world where we can all achieve our dreams! Everything is better when done together.
Skills Learned by Residents
Along the way, invaluable skills such as gardening, stewardship of land, building, and nutrition will be learned by resident members. These lessons and skills will create a butterfly effect as each resident will reach back and help their neighbor.

Preventing and reducing chronic illness; Improving overall mental wellness
- Improving lifestyle and diet can significantly reduce chronic disease and even some mental illnesses.
- There are many studies published that all point to the immense health benefits that a whole foods diet, time in the garden/nature, physical exercise, community and stress reduction have.
- For example, the risk of depression increases 80% and the risk of attention deficit disorder doubles in teens when they eat a poor quality diet compared to a high quality whole foods diet. (Reference)
- Gardening alone has a positive impact on depression and anxiety symptoms, stress, mood disturbance, obesity, cognitive function, and increases quality of life and a sense of community. (Reference)
- Regular nutrition, cooking, exercise, yoga and meditation classes will eventually be available.
- Living a simple life where exercise, living in community, eating an organic whole foods diet, plenty of time in nature and the garden, regular physician visits and time with our horses will help jump start our member’s health.
